New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Leo

This week’s New Moon is also a South Node Total Solar Eclipse in Leo — and it opens the first major chapter of our new Leo/Aquarius nodal cycle.

When the Nodes change signs, the questions begin to change too.

And eclipses have a way of turning up the volume.

They can accelerate change, bring something into our awareness that we can no longer ignore, or create a turning point we didn’t necessarily see coming.

Because this eclipse sits on the South Node, perhaps the first question isn’t What am I ready to create?

Maybe it’s…

What am I ready to stop carrying forward?

Leo speaks to the heart, our creativity, our confidence and our sense of SELF.

But somewhere along the way, we can begin defining ourselves by the roles we’ve learned to play.

The responsible one.
The caregiver.
The achiever.
The teacher.
The strong one.
The one who keeps everything together.

There’s nothing wrong with any of those roles. Some of them may have served us beautifully.

But do they still reflect who we are NOW?

That feels like the invitation of this eclipse.

An invitation to become more aware of where an old identity, expectation or role may no longer fit.

And because eclipse energy can feel intense, we don’t necessarily need to DO something with everything that comes up.

We can simply observe.

What is being revealed?
What feels like it has run its course?
Where am I being asked to loosen my grip?
What feels more authentic now?

Sometimes moving forward isn’t about pushing harder, working harder or doing more.

Sometimes it’s about creating enough space for something different to emerge.

This eclipse begins an 18-month journey from the South Node in Leo toward the North Node in Aquarius. We aren’t expected to know today where that journey will take us.

But we can become intentional about what we’re willing to carry with us.

 This eclipse opens the door.

Maybe our job isn’t to rush through it.

Maybe it’s simply to recognize what has served its purpose — and give ourselves permission to release it.
