Mark your calendars for putting extra intention into making your wildest dreams come true during this powerful energy around the New Moon in Taurus.
This New Moon is coming off of a very fierce eclipse season that transpired during a rough and rocky Mercury Retrograde. The New Moon in Taurus acts as a calmness, soothing our frazzled nerves amidst unsettling or destabilizing external events.
Yes, Mercury Retrograde of April has come to an end and it’s likely you felt the tremor of it. I know I did! As if it wasn’t potent enough, the May Full Moon coincided with the lunar eclipse of May 2023. No doubt, May 2023 has been and will continue to be a hectic month. Oh yeah, and did I mention that Pluto Retrograde kicked off too? The New Moon in Taurus honestly can’t come fast enough.
If your world felt rattled, rocked, or possibly even shattered by the eclipse we just went through, this lunation is an invitation for integration. Taurus energy craves stability, safety and dependability, which is everything that an eclipse is not. Taurus is not a sign known for loving changes – it’s symbolized by a sturdy, slow-moving bull! That says a lot!!!
Change is never easy, sometimes its not even wanted, but since we often don’t get a choice in the matter, especially during eclipses. This New Moon grants us the care, nurturing, and patience we need to enter this new phase – right at the tail end of Taurus Season.
The New Moon in Taurus is a welcome pause that allows us to regroup, refocus, and recommit to who we love and what we want to invest in. Taurus grounds us in what’s real and what’s tangible, asking us to indulge our 5 senses (sight, sound, smell, taste and touch), which we may find that we need to rely on going forward.
New Moon’s, you may recall, are a time for new beginnings, so pay close attention to any new people that show up in your world or new events that occur during this New Moon. What happens now will manifest in our lives later….so pay attention.
Jupiter moves into Taurus on May 16th; Jupiter stays in each sign for a year. Therefore, Jupiter will be in Taurus until May 2024.
Look back 12 years ago and recall what was happening in your life, as whatever was going on during that time will be repeated during this Jupiter transit. Positive Jupiter is the great planet of expansion, abundance, recognition, success and generally it operates positively for each of us.
There will be a lot of Taurus like focus during this New Moon, such as things related to earth, nature, land, food and everything that comes from the land. Since Jupiter is the planet of expansion, we could see an even greater increase in food prices and the price of land may go up.
We will ultimately recognize our need to go back to nature and find ways to grow our own food during this transit.
Pluto rules Scorpio – Scorpio is all about hidden secrets, hidden agendas and it rules government and top-down structures. Pluto will reveal destruction, lack of integrity and it’s linked to the sign its going through. Then we have Jupiter in the house expanding/blowing things up. This energy will test our beliefs (Jupiter) and our values (Taurus).
The last half of May promises to be incredibly dynamic, fast moving, eventful with lots of secrets spilling out. Our belief systems and values may be challenged on an individual level.
On top of all this crazy energy, Mars will square Jupiter during this New Moon in Taurus. Mars will be fighting for our beliefs, fighting for what we stand for – there is a kind of crusading element with this particular aspect.
These dynamic, powerful Astrological energies will find many of us faced with a fork in the road to decide on the old top-down structure vs. community and unity.
As you work through the remainder of May and into June, the best way to navigate through these intense energies is to operate in service to others and turn to nature for stability.
